The advent of the UK Private Finance Initiative has provided
the private sector with the opportunity to create, operate
and maintain building assets which were previously under
the sole control of UK public authorities. PFI and PPP schemes
have allowed the development of government infrastructure
which would have been unable to be progressed through conventional
funding capital restraints, leading to major development
programmes in the NHS, Education, and support services accommodation.
Woolgar Hunter has played an active role in a number of
schemes, providing both civil and structural design expertise
together with an appreciation of the building life cycle
requirements of modern public sector accommodation. Diligence
work is also a growing area of experience.
