Woolgar Hunter provided the civil and structural design for Moda Living on this recently opened PRS scheme in Glasgow. The development, built on the site of a former police HQ in central Glasgow, provides 433 new units of varying sizes, split across a masterplan of four connected buildings. Ranging from six to twenty-two storeys, the buildings also contain various communal spaces including gym, lounges, and dining areas. A rooftop garden provides residents with panoramic views of the city.

The building is one of a number of PRS masterplans Woolgar Hunter has engineered in Glasgow in recent years, providing much needed high quality accommodation in the city centre.

Engineering Excellence

Occupying a full city block, the scale of the development presented significant constraints in its tight, city-centre location. A Network Rail tunnel running beneath the site required a sleeved pile system to be designed, to minimise load on the tunnel. The building structure consists of post-tensioned concrete slabs, with a masonry and rain screen façade.
