Leyland Town Plan

Client:

Chorley Council

Sector:

Masterplanning

A landmark bid to develop a town centre for Leyland by securing up to £25m under the Government’s Towns Fund to improve the town as a place to live, work, and enjoy leisure time.

The development of the town centre through the development of a selection of key sites has been challenging given the town’s historic car industry and the heavy industrial legacy that remains in part.

Engineering Excellence

The development involves extensive public realm works and refocusing of key lines of sight and access for not only the traffic within the town centre, but also the people who live and navigate the town centre.

The redevelopment also includes a range of building types and uses including food and beverage, a broad range of low carbon homes, education and exhibition space, commercial kitchens, and adaptation of existing masonry construction buildings.
