Sector:
We are currently onsite at 50 Bothwell St, engineering the major refurbishment of this 1890s building to create 90,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. This project involves the retention of the original sandstone façade and construction of a new steel frame within, including the development of attic levels to create additional levels of useable space.

Engineering Excellence
The façade had been retained on three sides in a previous renovation, so significant structural investigation was required to ascertain what existing structure could be utilised in the new scheme. The new configuration of the space includes an atrium extending through all six floors, providing a bright and airy centre to each floor and allowing natural light into lower levels.
The fifth and sixth floors contain a number of roof terraces, both private and communal, set among the retained chimneys and masonry details of the original roof. The building will contain a range of tenant facilities including a gym and tenant hub, while at ground level a new café and business hub will enhance the public realm offering in the area.
