Masterplanning

Woolgar Hunter is providing civil, structural and geo-environmental services on the redevelopment of MoD Meadowforth in Stirling. The project involves the refurbishment and extension of one of the existing barracks buildings into a film and TV studio, requiring the roof to be raised and strengthened to bear equipment loads. Truss analysis has been undertaken to ascertain necessary strengths to meet the needs of the studio, and a system of acoustic cladding will be fitted.

Engineering Excellence

The refurbishment is the first proposed job in a larger multi-use development on the site, and Woolgar Hunter has been supporting the development of the wider masterplan. Being a former military base, the project began with significant work from our geo-environmental team to ascertain the levels of contamination and any remedial works required to make the site safe, particularly for proposed residential development. Our civils team has been heaving involved in the development of the plan, maximising the space for development and designing a sustainable urban drainage system to avoid surface water flooding. The masterplan imagines a wide range of uses for the planned buildings, and a focus on shared greenspace and extensive active travel networks to and within the site.
