A further new development for Scania Great Britain, whilst in its infancy, is the creation of a new national training facility at their Head Office in Milton Keynes. Scania’s facility in Falkirk is located at the Abbotsford Business Park. The development area is circa 1.93Ha which consists of a commercial unit circa 2,066m². Scania’s facility in Stockton-on-Tees is strategically located adjacent to the east of the A66, located 11 miles west of Teesport and 1 mile to the south of the town centre. Both projects' development areas consist of an industrial unit with associated car parking, concrete service yards and associated soft landscaping.

Engineering Excellence

The project in Falkirk had many ground engineering challenges resulting from the sites former uses including the presence of existing foundations requiring careful design consideration of site levels, earthworks, foundations, drainage and utility co-ordination.

The project in Stockton-on-Tees had many challenges including careful consideration of the site level designs which respected the existing conditions at all boundaries and aimed to provide an FFL level which would consider earthworks during the construction stage, drainage design with the inclusion of appropriate SuDs techniques for the developments use as well as utility coordination.
