This project involved the creation of 15 temporary accommodation pods, together with a central hub, for people experiencing homelessness. Residents are expected to live there for around 6 to 12 months, with opportunities to engage in community activities and learn new skills.

The village offers intensive support from The Salvation Army, including activities like exercise, cooking, and skills sessions, aimed at helping residents rebuild confidence and move towards stable employment.

Engineering Excellence

Woolgar Hunter’s geo-environmental team provided pre-investigation (desktop) assessments; scoping of intrusive SI followed by management of the Works and interpretation of the findings.

The site was Brownfield with a history of heavy industry. Land contamination levels was a key consideration, together with helping with the design of appropriate foundations for the lightweight pods.
