Woolgar Hunter provided Civil and Structural Engineering services for a new campus facility at Craigie Estate in Ayr for the University of the West of Scotland. This project, adjacent to the River Ayr, replaces the existing campus and provides new teaching and administration facilities along with a sports hall and associated changing facilities.
Engineering Excellence
The redevelopment proposals involved the demolition of the existing buildings on the site and the construction of a new 3/4 storey building adjacent to the river. The remainder of the site houses the necessary infrastructure, car parking areas and new drainage systems.
The campus was successfully completed and provides Ayrshire with one of Scotland’s most modern, environmentally friendly and sustainable Higher Education learning environments.
